ABOUT US
Rumpled Quilt Skins opened its doors on April 1, 2003 in a 600 square foot building in Olde Towne Okotoks, AB. We sold fabrics, notions and Husqvarna sewing machines. Our quilting classes were held in the front of the store and required us moving fabric shelves to the side so that we could set up tables for the students.
Our customers continued to be loyal and patient as we got busier. We needed to expand, and in late 2006, we purchased our existing building, began extensive renovations and moved into our newly restored building in May 2007. We then renovated our classroom and are enjoying the 1700 square feet of space for the many different classes that we offer.
Our current building was built in 1906 and is a great setting for a quilt shop. The original tin ceiling, the old fir floor and the 'period inspired' lighting add to the charm that most quilts naturally provide.
We now sell and service Brother sewing machines as well and have long been known for our expertise in everything embroidery. Over the years, we've held dozens of classes for embroidery enthusiasts and are proud of the many quilt show prizes that our customers have won! If your interest is in machine embroidery, you've found the right place.
A lot of people have been asking us to have more pictures of our store on our website and a bit more information about the transformation of this building. See below for more info on this.
At Rumpled Quilt Skins, we know you like to have lots of choices in your thread colours, so we stock more than 1000 colours of thread in various types for your sewing needs.
